A high sleeper is a raised bed frame designed to free up floor space beneath. Unlike mid-sleepers or bunk beds, the sleeping area sits higher off the ground, usually with a desk, futon, or shelving unit underneath. It’s perfect for compact rooms, kids, and teens.
Are High Sleepers Safe?
Yes, our high sleeper beds are built with sturdy and durable materials designed to meet UK safety standards. They come with guardrails, secure ladders, and stairs. However, due to their height, we recommend children aged 6 and above sleep on the top bunk.
Size and Age Range of High Sleeper Beds
High sleeper beds are best for kids 6 and up due to their height. The sizes you can find are:
- Single High Sleepers - 90 x 190cm, the most common size for kids.
- Continental Single High Sleepers – 90 x 200cm, a Euro single high sleeper bed with extra legroom.
- Small Double High Sleepers – 120 x 190cm, bigger than a single but smaller than a double, for ages 8 and up.
- Continental Small Double High Sleepers – 120 x 200cm, a Euro small double high sleeper bed with extra length for taller kids 8 and up.
- Continental Double High Sleepers - 135 x 200cm, a Euro double high sleeper bed with extra length for ages 10 and up.

Which Mattress Do High Sleepers Need?
When shopping for a high sleeper, make sure you have a slim mattress, this makes sure it can fit safely under the guard rails. Any mattress type will work, but the depth should be 15-16cm or less and match the size of the bed frame.

While we help on delivery, our high sleepers are all self-assembly. Don’t worry though as each model comes with easy-to-follow instructions and it will take about 1-2 hours to assemble your new high sleeper.
